OhioHealth Sleep Services is a Winx Sleep Therapy System provider. If you suffer from obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and are looking for an alternative to CPAP, you can now breathe easier.
Unmasking Sleep Apnea
Winx System Winx is a new sleep therapy system that uses oral pressure therapy (OPT) to treat obstructive sleep apnea. The system features a soft and flexible mouthpiece, a slim tubing and a quiet, compact console. The flexible mouthpiece is worn inside the mouth during sleep. It attaches to a thin tubing, which is connected to the compact console. Lightweight and small, the console will easily sit on any bedside table or nightstand.
The Winx System's compact and flexible design allows users to breathe easily through the nose without a mask or headset accommodating most any sleeping position. The stylish console is also quiet, helping to create a comfortable sleeping environment.
When using the Winx Sleep Therapy System, the OPT technology actively opens an airway for uninterrupted breathing during sleep. It does this by gently drawing the soft palate forward and stabilizing the tongue.
The Winx Sleep Therapy System is designed to offer several benefits to OSA patients, including:
The Winx System is an alternative to continuous positive airway pressure machines (CPAPs) and may not be right for everyone. An OhioHealth board-certified physician specializing in sleep medicine will work with you to decide the best treatment options.
